Confirmation begins in the fall of a student's sixth-grade year, marking a significant and transformative journey in their spiritual development. This process is designed to engage middle school students over the course of three enriching years, during which they participate in Wednesday night fellowship and study sessions that are both educational and spiritually uplifting. Each Wednesday event is thoughtfully curated to include Theme Events that feature Biblical teaching, allowing students to explore and discuss key concepts of their faith in a supportive environment. Alongside these teachings, small group discussions foster a sense of community and encourage personal reflection, enabling students to share their thoughts and questions about their beliefs and experiences.
In addition to the theological teachings, students also participate in Fellowship and Servant events designed to promote teamwork, service, and a sense of belonging among peers. These events help students build friendships and instill the values of compassion and service to others, which are central to their faith journey. Throughout their time in confirmation, students are encouraged to engage actively with their peers and leaders, creating a vibrant community of young believers who support one another in their spiritual growth.
The confirmation process culminates in a mentor program, where each student is paired with a mentor who guides them through their final stages of preparation. This mentor relationship is pivotal, as it provides students with personalized support and wisdom from someone who has walked a similar path of faith. Together, they participate in Faith in Life learning and interactive sessions, which delve deeper into the practical applications of faith in everyday life. These sessions are designed to help students understand how their beliefs can influence their decisions, relationships, and actions in the world around them.
Finally, the culmination of this extensive journey occurs when students affirm their faith on Reformation Sunday during their tenth-grade year. This moment is not only a personal milestone for each student but also a celebration for the entire community, as it signifies the students’ commitment to their faith and readiness to embrace the responsibilities that come with it. Throughout this journey, confirmation students gather every Wednesday at 7 PM in the Youth Room, where our dedicated Youth Director and Senior Pastor guide them
. This consistent meeting time fosters a sense of routine and commitment, allowing students to deepen their understanding of their faith and build lasting relationships within the church community.
